Empowering Women Farmers: ICIME Food Processing Exhibition in Rivers State

The Institute of Corporate Industrial Management Entrepreneurs (ICIME) recently hosted an impactful exhibition at the Rivers State Agricultural Center in Obio-Akpor LGA, designed specifically to empower women farmers with essential skills in food processing entrepreneurship. The event brought together passionate female farmers eager to transform their agricultural produce into sustainable, profitable businesses.

During the exhibition, participants gained hands-on experience in modern food preservation methods, value addition techniques, packaging, and branding strategies. Expert trainers from ICIME guided attendees through the entire process—from selecting and handling raw materials to producing high-quality, market-ready goods. Special emphasis was placed on hygienic processing, compliance with food safety standards, and leveraging local resources to minimize waste and maximize output.

This initiative is part of ICIME’s broader mission to foster entrepreneurial excellence and inclusive economic growth across Nigeria. By focusing on women in agriculture, the program aims to close gender gaps in agribusiness, improve household incomes, and enhance food security within Rivers State and beyond.

The response from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing renewed confidence to launch or scale their food processing ventures. ICIME remains committed to providing practical, industry-aligned training that drives real change and creates lasting impact in the lives of Nigerian entrepreneurs.

We extend our gratitude to the Rivers State Agricultural Development Agency and all partners who supported this initiative. Together, we are building a more resilient and entrepreneurial agricultural sector.
